There is the Good Luck Tai Chi sword also in varying lengths with metal bat designs. The bat represents good fortune in China. If you prefer a dragon to a bat, we have that too in the Twin Dragon Design Tai Chi straight sword. Saving the best for last is the Jian Tai Chi sword designed by world-renowned Chinese martial arts master Sifu Adam Hsu. With function and performance in mind during the design, these jian are constructed for martial artists. The blades are made of high-carbon spring steel with a ridgeline going down the center producing an intense audible feedback when swung. The Ming-style guard is a beautifully ornate with an embossed Dragon symbol. The handle and scabbard are made of a high-resistance wood-grain polymer for durability and strength. Also, the handle has grooves running down it to increase sensitivity when held. One unique feature is the “duck-bill lock” in the bottom of the scabbard that securely holds the sword in place.
New broadswords included a variation of the typical broadsword known as the Double Handed Head Chopper or Dadao. Dadao were made for military use, but they were most commonly associated with civilian militias or revolutionaries. While not a particularly sophisticated sword, the weight and balance of the dadao gave it considerable slashing and chopping power, making it an effective close combat weapon for untrained troops. We also have two Bagua broadswords with 40” blades, in either traditional or combat-style. There are four more Broadswords to round out the new broadswords selection, all come in in 28”, 30”, and 32” blade lengths with the exception of the Black Case broadsword which is either 30” or 32”. You have your choice of case designs either in Natural Finished Teak Wood, Fancy Fitting Pear Blossom Wood Case, Pear Blossom Wood Case, or a Black Case.
The Rattan Shield doesn’t appear to be a threatening but combined with a short sword, you have a devastating combination. This imported rattan shield is 100% hand-made, just like the ancient shields used in many battle fields by warriors.
There are four Japanese style swords that are new. We have two katana, samurai swords, in either a modern fantasy design like the Dragon Strike with added throwing blades or a traditional high quality design like the Practical Pro Kantana. The perfect match to the Practical Pro Katana is the Practical Plus Wakizashi. The wakizashi was usually worn together with the katana by the samurai or swordsmen of feudal Japan. When worn together the pair of swords was called daishō, which translates literally as "large and small"; dai or large for katana, and shō for wakizashi. The wakizashi would be worn at all times, and therefore, it constituted a side arm for the samurai (similar to a modern soldier's use of a pistol). That last samurai sword is the Zatoichi Sword immortalized by the blind swordsman. It is a full-length straight katana with a fully tempered blade, disguised as a simple walking stick.
A replica of the sword used by Jet Li in the movie is available. The "Hero" Sword of the Nameless Warrior also comes with a free Nameless Warrior headband.
Named for its originator, the great General Kwan Yu, the Quandao (or Kwan Dao) started life as a powerful military weapon and usually reserved for ranking officers. The un-edged high-carbon steel blade has a distal taper for balance and is engraved in a dragon motif with the traditional bell tassel attached to the hook. The wooden staff terminates in a quatrefoil pommel and the blood cup and guard have a distinctive antiqued finish. This Quandao comes with a vinyl blade protector in addition to cloth protectors of both blade and staff.
