Hmm...Wasp Knife

To those of you who train with knives for combat purposes...here is an interesting knife that may be beneficial for whatever dangerous situations you find yourself into!

I do a ton of knife training and I'm not for sure on how well the release valve opperates but it doesn't look like it has any blood grooves, so that may be designed to help it "stick" so that you have a second to push the release button. Still, interesting to see and very, VERY deadly to even the most novice user!

Add this weapon to your skills and you're going to have a deadly tool. To me this is simular as to having a knife with a 12ga inside it (it just won't expale fragments and shot). The only thing I see so far that I don't like is that it doesn't really have a hand guard at all and that could really hurt. Other than that...???

I'm thinking I might order one of these little devils to see how well it truely performs...if I'm not satisfied, can always get your money back (supposidly, lol).

Hmm, didn't know that it had any legal limitations within any of the states yet. But I can understand the reasoning behind it.

I understand what you are saying but you have to look at the qualities of adding specific functions to a regular knife. For example...adding a ring to the butt end of the handle of a blade (ring dagger) is concieved as adding a device that enhances it uses and delievery systems to that knife. I still count it as a knife but can now use it quite differently than your regular basic knife. (I'm fond of them thanks to my sigung and sifu's, lol)

To me, this WASP knife is still a knife, just has modern technology added to enhance it's abilities. It just takes away from actually acquiring skill to use it...now if you put it in the hands of someone who understands blade work, then it adds to the destructive level.

Seems like the more technology based the world gets the farther some of us people get from developing actual skill, making it a whole lot easier for people to harm others and/or get their deliquent tales arrested.

I can't imagine anyone winning any self-defense arguments in a court of law after using something like that.

Useful carving a moose or against sharks while diving if needed, sure. As a street carry? No way.

Depends on if the defender is prepped and understands some key specifics to play upon in court BUT it would still be iffy. I believe that is why the knife is sold as a surrival and military sought weapon.
