hey, i'm the baby of the group now. i'm really enjoying the posts and getting more educated, what a great group of guys!!. it's cool to see the dedication my kung fu brothers have in their arts and it really motivates me to train even harder. i have a question for all...might be good debate. it is...hard style/soft style. from what i studied and am told that as you age say by mid forties you start to lose muscle mass and strength which makes sense to some degree. martial artists who have trained in the hard styles since say teens to early forties then swith to soft style ie: chen or yang internal styles so as not to have to rely on muscle strength as is evidenced in much footage of the great chinese tai chi chen and yang masters in their eighties and even ninties easily throwing and controlling much younger men, a good example is to watch master chen xiaowang one of the 4 tigers of chen village and my master's, master easily root himself with 40 men one behind each other trying to push him over as he calmly holds a cup of tea and sips...LOL...also over time i hear that hard style can wear on the bones etc. of course the intake of internal herbs can help the longivity too, i'd love to hear my other brothers thoughts as this has always been an imense interest to me.
