Hey brothers, just bought wle's iron palm and body sets, how do you suggest I go about training?, how many strikes, times a day etc. Thanks

Does it not mention how to do that in the instruction?

I have no idea as I am not a student of Wing Lam Shifu nor use his methods.

Anyone else that can help?

Good luck with your training.

For Iron Palm Sifu Lams book says, for the beginning level, 15-20 minutes of striking. No number of strikes....
The striking time increases with time....then for the Third/advanced level it is 5 minutes
striking the mung beans or gravel, then 30-45 minutes the steel bag.
He recommends doing this 2 times a day.

I´m just more hooked on the metal shot starting version. Don´t have much time...
But I think combining warm up exercises / Qigong exercises of the Wing Lam book
and the DVD from Dale.

Focusing your mind/qi is going to be the hardest part.

Unfortunately there is no easy method for this.

It is going to be the hardest thing you have ever tried to do in your life.

But if you stick with the practice, and make it a daily practice for a few years, you will have great success.

Hence you do not see many people who train these skills, true internal methods are hard to train.

that is why beginners are not offered these methods in most schools, as you need to have already trained the mind with sitting and standing practices and simple qi gongs before one embarks on advanced level practices.

I think the qi is focusing itself, because you hit your hands constantly, so it has to go there...
also your attention has to go there, because you feel the hits on your skin. And then...with
time...your body knows how to do it. Thats my theory...

I´m just remembering a good exercise in Bruce Lee´s 1 and 3 Inch Power Punch book, the
Letting Down Exercise, where you relax the whole body, start floating in the universe, and
then manage to anchor this state with a codeword. I used it just for relaxation, and it worked
good for me. I think this one could possibly be helpful in conjuction with iron palm.

So it's more of an external training right now? I've dabbled in qigong, I know a bit of the history and stuff, just new to the practice is all. Buddha I never heard of that, go into more detail?

Qi Gong when examined is Self Hypnosis combined with NLP concepts.

You need to practice your material for a period of time that the brain will actually make neurons pertaining to that which you are training.

So if you are having issues with focusing your energy, you need to relax and not worry about it. But create an image in your mind of what you want to do, and visualize it everytime you do this training.

It will take about 90 days to set this into your brain, and you will have success with it.

Most people do not do this and lie to themselves.

Do not worry about your energy.

Again these practices are not for beginners and anyone who does not have experience with training the mind through sitting and standing is going to have a tough time of it.
