The spear is a favorite weapon of competitors.

Spear Head: This spear head is constructed of cold-rolled, chrome plated steel and formed in the traditional diamond shape. It is stiff and unsharpened, with a pronounced spine along the blade and three decorative ribs at the top of the column. Raised into the metal is a Sun and Moon symbol, and the characters for Shen Guang Long, the spear head's maker. Inside are small ball bearings, placed there to generate sound to emphasize power in movements (similar to the "snap" in Wushu swords). Includes a large red tassel. Approximately 7" in length.

Shaft: Flexible wax wood is used for this spear's shaft. It is very lightweight and tapered very slightly, with the narrower end going into the spear head. The wood is hand-selected to be as straight as possible. Overall length, including shaft and head, is approximately 76". The diameter around the widest end of the shaft is approximately 1 1/8�.

Recommended use: This spear is made for use in contemporary Wushu practice and demonstration, and is a fantastic spear for use in Wushu tournament competition.
