This sword is Shen Guang Long's signature high-quality jian.  The hand-forged, hollow-ground damascus steel blade was forged using a 24-step process that takes six months to complete, resulting in a blade composed of seven to eight thousand layers.  The wood used for the handle and scabbard is Black Sandalwood aged approximately 100 years.  The fittings are cast brass, and the sword's hilt interlocks with the scabbard's receiver to create the yin-yang symbol.

The sword's Chinese name is "Yuan Wu Jian", meaning "Black Martial Sword".  The color black is used to denote the god of the North, who is often depicted with a tortoise and snake.  To represent its namesake, the pommel of this sword's handle is adorned with a tortoise and a snake sitting atop a lotus flower.  The fittings on this sword are full of important Chinese symbols:  the tip of the scabbard is covered by a Qilin, the middle is adorned with a Phoenix, and near the hilt lies a Dragon.  However, the most stunning feature of this weapon is the blade; the beauty of its damascus steel dwarfs even other hand-forged damascus blades.
