Exotic Weapons-Chinese Martial Arts Weapons
Exotic weapons are exotic because they differ from the other weapons in a unique way or are less common.  The Da Dao or literally Big Knife is less common than a broadsword or straight sword.  Long the traditional weapon of China's peasant armies, it’s single or two handed versatility, combined with the tremendous chopping power of its forward-weighted high carbon blade made it the ideal close quarter’s weapon.  Not a straight sword but a variant of the common broadsword.

Damascus steel, also known as Damascened steel and sometimes watered steel, now commonly refers to two types of steel used in custom knife and sword making, pattern-weld and wootz (true damascus), both types of Damascened steel show complex patterns on the surface. These patterns are the result of the unique forging methods used for the creation of Damascened steel, and skilled swordsmiths can manipulate the patterns to create complex designs in the surface of the steel.  Damascus Chinese weapons are less commonly available.

The Damascus Steel Blade Tai Chi Sword Is crafted by Hanwei to a completely different standard of quality than most pieces available, our T'ai Chi (1013-GT) sword is built around a hand-forged Damascus steel blade, profiled to produce a fast, well balanced sword.

Another Damascus Sword is the Han Sword exhibiting a cavalry pattern from the Han Dynasty (206 BC – AD 220).  The rosewood grip and scabbard are inlaid silver in an intricate scroll pattern, while the gilded steel guard, pommel, and scabbard decorations feature the “crouching tiger” motif.  The random pattern “Damascus” blade, with its ridged central fuller and reinforced point is admirably suited for slashing cuts and powerful thrusts from horseback.

Yanling Broadswords are narrower than the common broadsword.  Deriving its name from the "goose feather" shaped blade, the Yanling Broadsword was originally developed in the Song Dynasty.  This exquisite version has a beautifully patterned folded Swedish powder steel fullered blade and the grip is leather wrapped over sharkskin.

The Four Points Fantasy Weapon is definitely a unique weapon.  Star Trek fans for The Next Generation or Deep Space 9 can relate to the following information.  “The standard betleH is a result of the evolution of the original sword of Kahless to a form more contusive to combat in tight spaces i.e. onboard starships.   Swords of this size will vary from warrior to warrior due to the individual's size and fighting style.”  This lightweight aluminum replica of Star Trek's all-around coolest weapon stretches 46" from tip to tip (slightly larger than a standard Kahless) and the blade is 15" broad.

We have a 7.35 lb Stainless Steel version of Star Trek's Klingon weapon.  Not only that but we also have the Klingon training book, available separately “Secret Fighting Arts of the Warrior Race.”  Throughout the galaxy the might Klingon race is known for its ruthless skill in battle.  Now, the secrets of their most sacred weapon of honor, the betleH ylqel, are revealed for the first time.  An extensively detailed book on betleH techniques based on real martial arts, filled with photographs for step-by-step instruction.  This book was produced without the approval of Paramount and the entire print run was destroyed, except for a few advanced copies.  This is a rare one.   Stock#: B400

Most Katanas or Samurai swords are usually has a single edge blade.  We have the less common Double Edged Katana in this category.  An ancient and rare blade form, the kogarasu blades follow the curvature of shinogi katana, but there the similarities end.  Whilst the bottom half of the blade is single-edged, halfway up the blade suddenly sprouts another edge on the opposite side.  The factory this sword came from used only traditional materials for this swords' fittings.

Katana Sword, in the classic Samurai sword configuration is made with traditional materials and AUS 1050 steel.   Fittings.are expertly crafted from black iron, the Habaki (blade collar) is handmade out of polished brass and each hilt is covered in Sameacute (ray skin) and tightly wrapped in the traditional “cross-over” style with black cord.   There are a wide variety of non-stainless steels used in knife-making.  AUS 1050 steel does not focus their alloy mix on being rust-resistant, which means they are instead focused on edge retention, superior toughness, or both.  As a result, provided you're willing to put up with a little extra maintenance, you can see great performance results with these AUS 1050 spring tempered blades.

The Tanto Japanese Sword were mostly carried by samurai; commoners did not generally carry them.  Women sometimes carried a small tantô called a kaiken in their obi for self defence.  Myths about the ninja say that it was a favorite weapon of theirs because of its light weight, and was favored for assassination.  It was also a popular weapon among the yakuza.  This short sword is also made with quality AUS 1050 spring tempered steel.
